‘Yaum-ul-arafah’ (day of arafah or 9th Dhul Hijjah) falls on Thursday 31st August this year.
It is wajib (obligatory) to recite takbeer al tashreeq from after the fard of fajr salaah on the 9th of Dhul Hijjah until after the fard of the asar salaah on the 13th of Dhul Hijjah.
Insha-Allah the month of Dhul-Hijjah will commence on Wednesday 23rd August 2017. This means that Eid-ul-Adha (10th Dhul-Hijjah) will be on Friday 1st September 2017.
We will be holding three Eid salah in the masjid as follows:
“Zaid bin Arqam (رضي الله عنه) reports that the Companions of Rasulullah (ﷺ) asked him: “O Prophet, what is this sacrifice?” He said: “It is the way of your forefather Ibrahim.”
They asked: “What reward is for us therein?” He replied: “There is a reward for every hair”. They then asked: “For the wool, Ya Rasulullah?” He replied: “There is one reward for every strand of wool.”

On 2nd July 2017, Chingford Masjid was pleased to be part of the Waltham Forest Interfaith Walk organised by the Waltham Forest Faith Communities Forum. Members from different faiths were welcomed into our mosque in time for the midday prayers (Zuhr) with some members actively taking part. We were also humbled by the presence of the Mayor of Waltham Forest, Councillor Yemi Osho.
