السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ
May the peace and blessings of Allah (God) be with you
Welcome to our website. Chingford Islamic Society is a masjid and madressah that serves the muslim community in Chingford and surrounding areas. With a capacity of approximately 200 worshippers, the masjid has found itself to be quite small to fully serve the needs of the growing muslim population.
The masjid is open to worshippers at the times in the timetable for the five daily prayers. The doors are opened approximately 20-30 minutes prior to the start of the prayer and remain open for around 15 mins afterwards. However, for security, the masjid remains locked at all other times (except for madressah and prearranged events).
We welcome people of all faiths to our humble masjid to have a look around and to learn more about Islam. We only ask that you book it with us beforehand so that we can ensure that a guide is there to meet you. We look forward to welcoming you!
Madressah at Chingford Islamic Society
Living in a non-Muslim country makes it all the more important for us to be aware of our deeni obligations. Without learning this we will be unable to fulfil them properly and at the correct times. For this reason Chingford Islamic Society has been running madressah classes for a number of years. A new Islamic syllabus was introduced in September 2017 to ensure that your children will learn the basic foundations of Islam, the acts of worship required, and a range of daily supplications that a muslim can and needs to make throughout the day.
We have qualified male and female Islamic teachers who teach two sessions every weekday. Session 1 runs from 16:30 to 17:30, and session 2 runs from 17:40 to 18:40.
If your children don’t already attend a madressah, then it is important that you make arrangements now for their deeni learning. Remember, Allah has placed the responsibility of teaching your children the deen upon you!
For further information and an application form, please speak to the headteacher at the start or end of each madressah session.
